People will definitely make you feel like you have lost the plot and are now bored and need something to do. Its totally normal.
If you grew up in Nigeria, you would know that what is regarded as hair care is miles away from what real hair care is. If in doubt, please pick up one of those hair sprays or pink oils and google some of the ingredients and you would have some jaw dropping moments. Every one believes that long hair was genetic and maybe only for Fulani girls. I agree on the genetics things but love and care can also work.
When I told a few of the girls here what I was planning to do, the always laughed and thought how funny it was. The funniest part to most people was this blog and the same people who laughed are still reading this... I know you :P They are reading because they are curious to see how this journey goes. If it worked what do you think is going to happen :)
Actually one of my cousins asked e to please send down all my Peruvian and Brazilian weaves since I didn't need it any more. LOL. No chance in hell.Still clinging to them for now even if they don't get used.
If you are fortunate to live in somewhere like the states where hair care is a big thing for all the sisters then this will be a walk in the park. If you are like me where Africans are a minority then you are in for some transformation if you always had weaves or braids. If you are in Africa this would be fine except that your peers would think you are wasting your time until they see results.
Please please, I want many more African ladies to start on this and prove many more people wrong. The hair deserves some TLC too. Here are links for fellow African HHJers

I guess I have to make sure I put every effort to prove every one wrong, if it doesn't work it must be the products :P
